Operation of differentiated donor respect programs such as donor classrooms and Chunma Honors

Chunma Honors Park, a donor respect park, was constructed in YU Campus (President CHOI Oe-chool). The purpose is to respect major donors for university development and to expand social donation culture by sharing the meaning of sublime donation with university members and citizens.

YU plans to name plates, face relievo copper plates, busts, and seated statues of donors and use them as a honor dedication space to keep donors’ will for sharing. Some busts of major donors were moved from aside of YU Central Library.

Chunma Honors Park was constructed in the forest between YU Main Building and Foreign Language Education Center.A circular plaza, memorial stone, sitting walls, decorative walls, and trails were constructed in 11,700㎡ (3,510pyeong) of area. Beautiful scenery and lightings were also installed for day & night rest places. The circular plaza at the center has a space for cultural performances including busking, etc. It is constructed at opposite position of Mirror Lake from YU Chunma Daero and is expected to be used as the rest places for university members including students and citizens.

YU held the completion ceremony for Chunma Honors Park in the morning on the 19th. Chairman HAN Jae-sook of Yeongnam School Corporation, directors, and President CHOI Oe-chool of YU, etc. attended.

President CHOI Oe-chool said, “It is the most important to remember the warm mind and values of donors.I want all members of YU to keep the mind of thank by maintaining the meaning of [Thinking about the source of drinking water]. Donors’ sublime will of sharing is connected with talents who contribute in joint prosperity of human society that is the model of talents of YU.I hope that all students of YU grow to be the talents to contribute in society by sharing such donor’s will.”

Meanwhile, YU is said that it operates differentiated donor respect programs.It provides buildings and lecture rooms having the names of major donors and selects socially highly recognized and influential donors as Chunma Honors Members among individuals and organizations donated KRW 100 million or more donation and gives them certification plaques.Construction of Chunma Honors Park is expected to be connected with additional or potential donations for college development fund.
